HISTORY OF OUR CHURCH

In 1977 Merrill "Tony" Covalt and his wife Margaret "Kay" Covalt started the Fellowship Bible Church in the old Millheim Theater.  They held church there 8-9 months when they moved it to the Madisonburg Civic Center.  Church services were held there for 6 months.  At this time Tony and Kay moved the church services into their home.  In 1979 they heard of an empty church on Lower Georges Valley Road in Spring Mills.  It had formally been an Evangalical United Brethern Church before it closed.  Robert and Helen Steiger had bought the building and it had stood empty for many years.  From September 1979 - August 1981 the Fellowship Bible Church rented the building. Then in 1981 it was bought from the Steigers.  Many in the valley knew it as Locust Grove Fellowship Bible Church pastored by Merrill "Tony" Covalt or "The Covalts Church".  Tony pastored the church until 2004 when he went home to be the Lord.  His wife Kay had went home to the Lord in 1990.  Tony's son Michael took over as the present pastor in 2004.  Pastor Michael "Mike" and his wife Juanita "Nita" have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. They have been married for 37 years.

Sunday Morning Service 9:30 am

Pastor Mike and his wife Nita would like to invite you to Fellowship Bible Church.  Sunday Morning service starts at 9:30 am  Come at 9 am for coffee and treats.  You will enjoy our paino player, Lowell Rote who will sit and play old hymns until the service start.  And yes, we still have hymn books!  We love to sing!  "Mansion over the Hill Top", "Victory in Jesus", The Old Rugged Cross", and many more.

Last Sunday Evening of the month is all Singing Night.  Come pick your favorite hymn to sing.
